Carlos Cuéllar will remain in charge of Elche Ilicitano until 2028. The coach has reached an agreement with Elche CF to extend his contract with the reserve team for two more seasons, giving continuity to a project built on development, competitiveness and the growth of young academy talent.
The renewal comes after a very positive first season in Segunda Federación, in which Ilicitano secured survival and finished the campaign in 12th place with 41 points. The team competed well in a demanding division with one of the youngest squads in the group, showing clear progress as the season went on and producing a strong second half of the campaign.
The work carried out by Cuéllar and his coaching staff has been key to consolidating a recognisable identity: a competitive, brave reserve team focused on player development. Throughout the season, several youth-age players played an important role, while others moved closer to the first-team environment through training sessions and call-ups.
With this renewal, Elche CF reinforces its confidence in Carlos Cuéllar and backs the continuity of a project that will continue to compete in Segunda Federación, now in Group 3, with the aim of growing, developing players and preparing them for the club’s future.
