After 23 matches battling to climb out of the dangerous spots in the standings, Elche Ilicitano have finally left the relegation zone. The team managed by Carlos Cuéllar is enjoying its best spell of the season after recording just one defeat in the last five games.
With 35 goals scored, Elche’s reserve side is the fourth-highest scoring team in their league, and in the last ten matches they have failed to score only once.
To cap off the excellent work Cuéllar is doing on the Elche Ilicitano bench, two of his players have been called up to the Spanish national team. Álex Hernáiz and David Delgado have been selected to attend a training camp next week with the Spain Under-18 squad.
