Carlos Cuéllar's debut as head coach has not gone unnoticed. At the helm of Imperial (Real Murcia CF's second team), the Madrid-born coach has gone seven games unbeaten in Group XIII of the Tercera Federación.
The streak is divided into five wins and two draws. With nine games remaining in the regular season, Imperial are in third place with 47 points. This position would give them the right to play in the play-off for promotion (they also have a margin of eight points over the fourth-placed team in the standings). On the other hand, Carlos' team is the top scorer of the group (49 goals scored so far this season).
As an article published in 'La Verdad' points out, Cuéllar aspires to repeat the success that José Miguel Campos achieved in 2008: promotion with the second team. That Imperial compete in the Segunda Federación is a strategic objective of the maximum shareholder, Felipe Moreno, in his project for Real Murcia to return to the elite of national football.
