Aston Villa defender Carlos Cuellar has admitted that he still hopes to secure a call-up to the Spain national side during his career.
The 29-year-old stopper, who is due to return to the Villa side for this weekend's huge clash against Wolves following almost month on the sidelines due to a hamstring injury picked up in the draw at Blackpool, has never featured for the reigning world and European champions.
And, despite his age, Cuellar insists that he has not given up hope of wearing the red jersey before he hangs up his boots.
"I know it is really hard but in football anything is possible because you never know when your opportunity is coming," he told the Birmingham Mail.
