Carlos Cuellar understands Aston Villa fans' frustrations.
On Saturday boss Gerard Houllier was jeered and abused before, during and after defeat to Wolves as his side slipped down to 14th in the league, and just a point above the drop zone.
“I understand because normally in the last year we were fighting to get Champions League and Europa League but this year the situation is different for everybody,” defender Cuellar told the Birmingham Mail.
“They know we have a good team and good players and they don’t understand the situation, even we don’t as well.
“I tell you we were just as unhappy after the game, it’s normal.
“I think everyone is together, manager, club, owner, people, and we have to try to find the points to stay in the Premier League as soon as possible although we don’t have a points target.“.
