First he says the positive comments on the interactive online tool gave him a boost when he was injured at the start of the season.
Second he admits regular updating of his own page and interacting with others on theirs has improved his grasp of the language.
He said: "Twitter is a very good thing because when I was injured and I was doing my recovery people were sending messages through to me every day and that gave me confidence.
"They would say things such as 'We like you' and 'You are our favourite player' and that would help my recovery. That gave me the strength to work even harder.
"Even now that I have got the opportunity to play I like to think about that and know that people are behind me.
"It is hard when you are not playing but the kindness people offered me on Twitter helped me through that.
"It really helped me because you feel the love that people give you and you try to give it them back by playing well.
"When you are injured it is really frustrating because you don't feel like part of the team.
"You cannot train, you cannot play and you get home sometimes and are maybe feeling a bit down.
"But when you go on Twitter and the people are saying 'Come on, you can do it, you can do it', it gives you strength and makes you happier.
"Twitter has helped me with my English too because the tweeters teach you and give you some good feedback.
"When you want to talk to them you want to make sure that you do it right so you will put it in google to get it right.
"I think I have improved a lot with writing and that has been helped by Twitter.
"I like to use it just to show the fans how normal I am and how close I am with them.
"There are some people who like to get home, not listen or talk to other people or about football and just disconnect.
"Different people are different, but I enjoy it."
