Aston Villa defender Carlos Cuellar has thanked his legion of Twitter fans for helping him through injury problems earlier in the season.
Cuellar is now back in the Villa first team after spending the initial part of the campaign recovery from knee surgery.
But the Spaniard, who is holding ongoing talks with Villa over a new contract, admits the support of his 145,000 Twitter following helped him through his time on the side-lines.
Cuellar said: "Even when I was injured and doing recovery work, people would send me messages of support and that would give me confidence.
"They would say things like 'we like you, we want you to stay, you are our favourite player' and that gives you strength to work even harder.
"It's hard when you are not playing but the kindness of people on Twitter helped me through that."
