Bad luck for Carlos Cuéllar. The spanish defender suffered a muscular problem in his left leg against Blackpool (injured by chance and not because of the referee) and was come off (27 minutes). He was replaced by James Collins.
Carlos Cuéllar felt pain, trying to cut a ball to Dudley Campbell. The medical tests confirmed that he will be injured for three weeks. "I felt a pain. It's not true that I have injured the referee. It's false", he said after the game.
Finally, Aston Villa won a point against Blackpool at Bloomfield Road after being reduced to 10 men for the final 20 minutes.
Houllier's team took the lead in the first half after a great goal by Agbonlahor, but Blackpool equalised within four minutes after Grandin headed a corner.
