Marc Albrighton scored the 20,000th goal in Premier League history but it could not prevent Aston Villa from slumping to a 2-1 defeat to Arsenal at Villa Park. Carlos Cuellar played 90 minutes as centre back.
Yossi Benayoun headed home the winner with three minutes remaining after Albrighton’s 54th minute effort had cancelled out Robin Van Persie's penalty opener on 17 minutes.
Alex McLeish's side were probably unlucky to lose the match having fought back gamely in the second period.
Their night ended on a sour note when Scotland defender Alan Hutton lost his temper three minutes into injury time and was rightly red carded.
