Aston Villa ended a four-match losing streak at home with a 1-1 draw against Everton after letting slip a second-half lead.
Both sides had good chances in the first half. The villains were first to threaten a goal with a Petrov's free kick that Howard had to punch away. Albrighton had a shot blocked shortly afterwards.
But the real action started until after the break. The claret and blue went ahead in the 56th minute. Darren Bent was picked out by Ireland to score his seventh goal of the season for Aston Villa.
But only 13 minutes later the first goal was equalised by Victor Anichibe.
The positives for Villa were a notable performance from recalled keeper Shay Given, who had been sidelined for six weeks with an injury. Robbie Keane made his debut wih the villains in the final minutes. The Irishman had a warm reception from home supporters. Carlos Cuéllar was on the bench.
