Sunderland's senior squad are back in pre-season training today. The players have returned to the Academy of Light this morning for initial testing and fitness work as they embark on their pre-season programme.
Manager Martin O'Neill will run the rule over the squad, which includes new summer signing Carlos Cuellar. "My first day of training with Sunderland, there are a good people in the dressing room I was looking forward to start my new adventure ;)", said Carlos on his twitter account.
The reserve and youth squads both returned to training on Monday under the supervision of Kevin Ball and new coach Craig Liddle.
The senior side's friendly games will kick off next week when Sunderland face Seongnam in Suwon, South Korea.
The Black Cats, who are participating in the Peace Cup tournament, will also play Hamburg or FC Groningen in a second game.
