The new Barclays Premier League season begins on 17 August. With the pre-season training and friendly games over at last, the real action can get under way and Sunderland will start against Fulham in front of its own fans.
Carlos Cuéllar feels Sunderland’s pre-season will serve them well throughout the new campaign. The spanish defender has reflected on the intense six-week programme and feels the win in Denmark was a good way to conclude pre-season. “That result is a good way to sign off ahead of the new season kicking off next saturday,” the defender told safc.com.
“We will now face Fulham and it’s great for the Barclays Premier League season to start with a home fixture at the Stadium of Light. The team have done a lot of hard work over the summer and we are looking forward to the season starting”.
