A charity match celebrating the career of Stiliyan Petrov is set to take place at the home of his former club Celtic on September 8. Celtic Charity, the charitable arm of Celtic Football Club, is hosting '#19# - a legends' charity match in honour of the ex-midfielder, who announced his retirement in May after battling acute leukaemia.
The unique event will see Petrov - who enjoyed a trophy-laden spell at Celtic before going on to captain Villa - link up with a host of his former team-mates in a Celtic XI v Stiliyan XI game, including Carlos Cuéllar.
The match, which is also set to feature a number of other footballing legends plus celebrity fans, will take place at Celtic Park on September 8, with a 2pm kick-off. Petrov was diagnosed with leukaemia in March 2012 and is currently in remission from the disease.
He is now working at Villa as assistant development coach to the club's U21 team.
Tickets are now on sale, priced at £10 for adults and £5 for concessions.
