Almería's difficult situation needs the help of the most experienced players. Among them, although a new player, is Carlos Cuéllar. The 34 year old centreback has a long career path in elite football. He has to become one of the leaders of the squad now, although he is not one of the captains of the team. This is something normal as he has only been two months in the club.
Fernando Soriano, Sebastián Dubarbier, Julián Cuesta and Fran Vélez, in this order, are the captains of the Andalusian team as Miguel Ángel Corona left. These are prestigious players that would appreciate the help of somebody like Carlos. Only Soriano is more veteran than the player from Madrid.
Having Tenerife as the next rival (Saturday at 18h at the Estadio de los Juegos Mediterráneos), the challenge must be to improve all the lines. Regarding defence, Almería needs to acquire strength, specially when it comes to strategy moves. These strategy plays need Cuéllar's height, 190 cms, who will most definitely become a key player, also when attacking. Only goalkeeper Julián is taller than him.
