The first steps in football for Carlos Cuéllar were in Soria, at Numancia. Where, after a one year loan with Calahorra, played two seasons 2001/02, 2002/03 for the Castillian team. They were two important years for a player, just over his twenties, that dreamed to have a long and successful career in the elite.
Numancia managed to maintain the category a couple years, time in which Carlos took the opportunity and learnt a lot. His performances did not go unnoticed for Osasuna that grave him the opportunity to stay in the top flight, until he became one of the best centre backs in every league he has played.
More than a decade later Carlos has not forgotten his origins that is why this Saturday Almería's game against Numancia (18pm) in Soria will be a special game for the defender. A veteran player that keeps his illusions intact.
