Almería hosts Nàstic de Tarragona this Saturday (18 pm) with the need to win in their fight to avoid relegation. It will be a tough game for Carlos Cuéllar`s team that will face the third on the table in the Liga Adelante.
Carlos has fond memories of his games against Nàstic. In the 2006-07 season, he was one of the leaders of a historic Osasuna. That season, the Navarre team reached the semifinals of the UEFA and Nàstic was playing in La Liga. The two league games in which Osasuna played against the Catalan side ended with the same result, Osasuna won both games (2-0 and 2-3). Carlos played 90 minutes in both games and in Tarragona scored his only goal of the season in the domestic competition (he got one more in the previous Champions and one in the UEFA).
The Madrid-born defender scored with a header after a set-piece taken from the side-line and opened the score in the 11 minute. The rest of Osasuna goals were scored by Roberto Soldado. Nàstic, at the time, had Bizzarri, César Navas and Portillo in its ranks.
Nearly ten years later, the paths of Carlos and Nàstic have crossed again this season. In the first leg of the league the game ended in a two all draw at the Nou Estadi, and Cuéllar was decisive. A header from Carlos provoked an own goal for the home side. It was 87 minutes and helped the UD to grabbed a point.
