Maccabi Petah Tikva was closed to victory. Carlos Cuéllar team conceded a goal in stoppage time that meant the final 2-2 draw against FC Ashdod. Despite Maccabi took the lead twice on the score thanks to a double from Gidi Kanuk, was not enough to win the three points.
A victory would have been of great value. In a demanding and competitive league as the Israeli Premier League is, there's no easy game, and even less playing away (as was Maccabi's situation).
Carlos, once more, played the full 90 minutes. He is one of the leaders of the team and his presence on the pitch is vital for the Petah Tikva's team. A squad that despite the draw, will continue one more week amongst the top places of the table.
