Carlos Cuéllar and Maccabi Petah Tikva returned to the victory's path in a very special match. It was the first time the Spanish player played during Christmas in Israel (he already did it in England on the 26th of December Boxing Day) and his team celebrated the game week winning 2-0 against Hapoel Raanana and therefore they are third now. With goals from Guy Melamed and Mihai Roman, Cuéllar's team could take advantage of the fact that the rivals had only 10 men all the second half as Rene Mihelic got a red card.
It's Maccabi Petah Tikva's third win at home this season. They have only lost two games in 15 game weeks of Israel's Premier League, a league that doesn't stop during Christmas, as Carlos explained on his 'Marca''s blog. Next match will be on the 31st of December as they'll visit Hapoel Tel Aviv to close the year. Another great opportunity to celebrate another victory.
