On december 2016
Maccabi Petah Tikva ended the year with another win. Kobi Refua's players defeated Hapoel Tel Aviv (0-1) to end 2016 as one of the best teams in the Israel's League. Carlos Cuéllar team now is third in the table. They and Maccabi Tel Aviv are tying with the same points but Tel Aviv's club leads in goal difference.
Carlos Cuéllar was absent from last day action due to physical problems. Kanyuk's scored the only goal of the game, 20 minutes before the final whistle. Maccabi Petah Tikva have done two consecutive wins to end 2016. This last game gives plenty of morale boost to the Cuellar's team.
