Great victory of Kiryat Shmona. After holding Hapoel to a draw (1-1) in the first leg, Carlos Cuéllar's team qualified for the semi-finals of the Israeli Cup after edging out Hapoel Be’er Sheva (1-0). Nigel Hasselbaink's goal in the 11 minute sealed Hapoel Ironi's place in the next round, in which they will face Beitar Jerusalem.
Hasselbaink's goal came after a collective play and Nigel could have scored the 2-0 in the 36 minute, but the keeper save the occasion. Kiryat Shmona had more opportunities during the game and also Be'er Sheva nearly scored the equaliser near the end. Cuéllar played the complete match forming a line of three defenders, who stayed put in front of the Champions of the last two Israeli leagues.
Yesssss!! Big win and on to the Cup semifinals!! Massive game lads! Now it’s time to enjoy 😃 #KiryatShmona

The qualification comes after Kiryat Shmona lost any chance of playing the play-off. A circumstance left behind after today's victory against Be'er Sheva. Carlos and his teammates continues in the fight for a title that will make the season (the club has only won the Cup back in the 2013/14 season).
