Kiryat Shmona returned to winning ways after beating Bnei Sakhnin 2-0, thanks to an intimidating start. Two goals in the first 20 minutes (Lako 16 min and Ryan minute 18) made the difference for Carlos Cuéllar's side. The Madrid born centre-back, in the line-up once again, played the complete game and helped to keep the local goal unbeaten.
Con este gol entraba directo en la lucha por el gol del año con @Cristiano... y la sacan con la mano!! 🤦🏻♂😂 Penalti clarísimo 👋🏻🤷🏻♂️
With this goal I'd compete with #CR7 for the best goal of the year and they saved it with a handball! 😜 Clear penalty!!! pic.twitter.com/AJvmLYdXR4

With his participation in the victory, in which he worn the captain's armband, Cuéllar has played 29 games out of 30 in the league. A great record that reaches 39 counting the Cup ones. He just missed two games with Kiryat Shmona this season. Carlos is about to surpass the 40 games since the 2009-10 season. At the age of 36 the Spanish defender is in a great form.
These three points saves Hapoel Ironi from relegation and secures its participation in the Israeli top fly football next. Now they have 36 points with just three games to finish the play-off. Kiryat Shmona's next challenge will be next Saturday against Maccabi Haifa.
