Home draw without Cuéllar (2-2)

Aston Villa and Fulham played out an entertaining draw at Villa Park with chances for victory for the both sides. After a poor start Fulham were good value for the draw. As against Manchester United, Villa couldn't win with Carlos Cuéllar on the bench.

Villa dominated the first half with Downing causing plenty of problems. On 13 minutes Villa took the lead, Downing's left-footed cross from the right inducing Pantsil to head past his own goalkeeper. But Fulham equalised seven minutes into the second half. Sidwell's hopeful shot squirmed away from Friedel and Andrew Johnson headed the loose ball down.

Villa went ahead again on 72 minutes through a moment of inspiration from Walker, who advanced and shoot low from 20 yards, finding the corner for his first Premier League goal.

But Dempsey's 10th goal of the campaign rescued a point for Fulham. Both teams had to settle for a point apiece from a finely balanced game. "I think we dropped two points today," said Houllier.

The next Villa's match will be away to Blackpool next Saturday.
